| I want to take up carriage driving, is there a book that you can recommend to get me started? | |
| For a good general introduction to all aspects of carriage driving we would recommend "Make the Most of Carriage Driving" by Vivian and Richard Ellis and Joy Claxton (178 pages PB £9.95). It is easy to read and well illustrated throughout. |
| Who makes your leather harness? | |
| We do! All the leather harness and bridlework that you see in our catalogue is made on our premises. |
| How long will it take you to make my harness/bridle etc.? | |
| It depends on our workload. Certain times of the year are busier than others. If you tell us a specific date for when you need an item we can tell if we can meet it. If you are ordering a complete harness please give us as much warning as possible. |
| Do you use English leather? | |
| Yes. All the hides that we use are selected, best quality English tanned leather and that goes for all our harness, bridlework, number holders etc. as well. |
| Do you make bridlework/harness that will fit my native pony? | |
| All native breeds have their own distinct characteristics but because we make all items to measure you can be assured of a good fit . A large proportion of our work is with native ponies as off-the-peg harness and tack that fits correctly is difficult to obtain. |
| Do you sell second hand harness? | |
| No. We cannot vouch for its safety in use as we do not know its age, how it has been used or treated. |
| Do you make or sell webbing or synthetic harness? | |
| We are South East distributors for Zilco Europe Ltd. products which include Tedex and Zilco synthetic harness - used by many of the leading drivers around the world. Follow this link for further details. |
| What are the parts of the harness called? | |
| There are many regional variations for the naming of harness parts. These are the names we use to describe our harness |
